I am new to the area and would like to find a course to use within 30 min. Can anyone give me some suggestions?

Michigan State has a course on the Grand River... It's like exit 4? off of 496. You might want to contact them @

There is one in Charlotte off of 69, but it is a privately owned man made lake.
Not sure of any other ones, I live about an hour south of Lansing, and they are few and far between. Calhoun County DNR will not give me a permit anywhere.
Let me know if you find anything else.
