Does anyone know of any boat shows in their area this weekend, Jan 18-20? I know Nashville just had one, so it would be great to see photos, dates, special events and any information about past, present, and future boat shows. If you're like me boat fever is at it's peak. Thanks and 

The Nashville Boat Show was AWESOME! MasterCraft had a decent setup. Getting to see the X-45 and X-Star upclose really helped us with our new interior decisions. I must say that the boys from TNT Watersports of Hendersonville(where I bought my X-30), by far, had the best display. They are a Nautique, Malibu, and Axis dealer, unfortunately lol. For the surfers out there, I believe it was Malibu that has this new wake technology that will transition from port wake to starboard wake in about 3 seconds. A guy was riding starboard and jumped the wake and started riding port. AMAZING! Also, great deals in the pro-shop. I picked up and new Hyperlite 2013 Jimmy LaRiche Franchise board and a Ronix Thrasher surfer for under $600 total.

I went to the nashville boat show, and I agree that TNT had the best setup. Aquasport had a better setup that I expected. I really liked the X10 and Xstar they had. I was disappointed there were no supras or tiges at the show.

I'm heading to the Huntsville boat show tomorrow. Here are the pictures I took with my phone at the Nashville show.

It's new for this year. They have the SA350, SA450, and SA550. I think engine size it the only difference. It was a surprisingly good looking boat. I think it was $90k though. For that much money, I think there are much better options out there.

It's not just you. I have a lot of respect for CC but they have to do something about their styling. I'm not a big fan of the new x* but it looks pretty sexy compared to the landing craft G23. Currently Malibu has them both beat on styling. The new Supra's look pretty good too.

Went to the raleigh boat show this weekend. Wasn't real impressed with the lineup. Supra, Nautique, MC, Axis, centurion but some weird mixes in each.

Supra-Wasn't impressed with the 21v or 22. Both had straight up seats that were super shallow. I could see my back hurting riding almost anywhere in those boats. SA350 was a pretty boat and the seats were much nicer but ***. The finishes were garbage. All the seats were just laying in, no hinges, no nothing. 96k and you can't get hinged compartments? Not impressed overall

Nautique-G is pretty sweet but I can see what people say about the boxed out seats. Overall its an impressive beast, rest of the boats were "ok" but wasn't feeling the quality for the $.

Centurion-Look like their quality is getting better but dear lord their dashes are hideous.

Axis/malibu-20mxz is a sweet lil boat. Was really digging some of the detail. The axis had an ugly A$$ a20 that was blander than plain oatmeal. They also had a "recon" edition A22. I actually like the A22 but laughed when the dealer was pushing on "digital camo" vinyl. Like dude its ugly as hell go away. He then proceeded to tell me how the painted parts would hold up better. Like yea just imagine if they were powder coated haha.

Mastercraft-No star which was saddening but really liked the x-10. Girl was siked about the boat but couldn't get a dealer to pay us a bit of mind. I tried to get ones attention and he walked right up to an older couple after making direct eye contact. Guess I didn't look like a mastercraft owner lol. The x-25 was rediculous and again the finishes were off the hook. Blew everything else at the show away. Only thing I would love to see in the 10 is a padded walk on the rear deck like the 25 and 30. I know its a smaller area but would be a nice touch.

Overally MC seems to be killing it but I was seriously Pi$$ed about our dealer. I love that we get directed to local market dealers but mine seems to suck. Been over there a few times to get parts etc and can't get anyone to help us with the new boats.

So go back to wakeworld with your nautique loyalty

You mean if you wanted the biggest washiest(sp?) wake you'd buy a star! Sorry to hurt your feelings mr blind loyalty. But to me priority for a wake board boat comes to wake first!
Ofcourse cost is huge also being I'm no millionaire! If I was I'd have G already! For something less expensive my choice would prob have to be the new x-30. Love the MC interior materials an towers.

amazing how much nicer the MC interiors are than other brands. I really wasn't impressed with the G's seating. The flooring was great but I wouldn't ever make that a deal breaker on 120k. However I did think the 30 and the 25 were the best looking boats at the show. The 10 is pretty incredible though for its price.

I think the x-30 would be my choice. I really like the look of the x-25 but worry that hull can not handle extra ballast without washing/curling over. Pretty nice stock wake but from what people say it can't handle extra ballast without having to exponentially increase speed. Which seems to be the case with all the more pronounced deep v wake boats. So come on MC pickle fork that x-30 already!

The only thing that kept me from buying a 25 is the short stubby pickle fork. If they forked the 30, then it would be identical to a star. So I don't see that ever happening!

Heelgrad
02-12-2013, 04:16 PM
The lack of the pickle fork on the X30 is the deal killer for me. My kids love hanging up there with their friends and that traditional bow just makes it too right of a fit up there for 4-5 kids. Would love to see a pickle fork on that boat. Not sure why they went away from that design for this boat. The X30 is a great looking boat but that bow design has me shying away unfortunately.

AZX45OD
02-12-2013, 04:42 PM
I have often thought the same thing. I miss the bow space that my 45 had, but I love the handling of the new X30. I hope that the "new and redesigned X45" that will come out soon has the X30 hull but adds the picklefork.

Nordicron

Disagree. With the extra 2ft they could still give some room in the bow with the pickle without sacrificing hardly any cabin space. Best of both worlds. And it wouldn't be anything like the star which is almost 25ft nor would it add $40k to a x-30 price. That and it would have a nice clean surf and wakeboard wake...

I am personally waiting on the replacement for the X45, whatever and whenever that is. I'm sure it will be the perfect new boat for my family.

40k?!?! The star is about $15k more than the X30. $10k more than the X25.

I am guessing that your comment- "That and it would have a nice clean surf and wakeboard wake..." was to suggest that the Star has a dirty wake?

Besides the first couple videos that came out about the XStar (that were the prototype footage), I think there has been plenty of proof that the XStar wake is clean. The surf wake has yet to be tested very much, but I have seen a couple photos that suggest a very good surf wake on the new XStar. MC should have released that boat last spring, that way, there would have been time for people to properly weight it for surfing. It is all a guessing game, and I am not surprised to hear that it didn't surf well, with only stock ballast.

I have heard good reviews and bad reviews of the surf wake, but no reviews with anything but stock ballast. We all know that every MC needs an extra 1-2k to produce a good surf wave. No surprise there.....

Maybe I was a little off on the $40,000 comment. But there was a thread on one of these forums about a $160,000 boatshow priced star this season! also I don't believe a fully optioned Star is only $15,000 more than a fully optioned x30. My point more so was that the x-30 would be more desirable as a pickle fork. And that a pickle fork x-30 is a far cry from a star. Both in terms of price and functionality. Heck doesn't a x-30 even hold more people? And no one has ever said one negative thing about the wake quality of the new 30.

The Total MSRP was less than $160,000 on my XStar..... The only options, that I didnt get, was sat radio, tower speakers, and tower lights. (that I took off my other boat.....) Considering that my boat has the 7.4l, Power tower, and all of the other major options, I can't see a boat show price of $160,000.

I could see the MSRP reaching $160k on an absolutely loaded XStar, but nothing close to that on an asking price. (unless the dealer is not interested in selling it). From what I have seen, most of them are priced in the range of $120-$125k.

Provided that you are talking about the same engines, in the boats that you are quoting. And they are both optioned up pretty good.... An XStar should cost about 15k more than an X30. If you are talking about a 6.0 in the X30, and a 7.4l in the XStar, it is going to be more like $25k difference. I could care less, if you believe it or not. I priced them myself, and I saw the dealer figures....... I know what the difference was.

Also, If I remove posts from teamtalk, that were posted here by guys that hate on MCs constantly over at WW, I wouldn't have heard anything negative about the XStar wake either.

Fourfourty- sounds like you have a real nice boat coming! Congrats! I honestly had no idea that you could get a new star for only $15k more than a x-30. Being you've bought one I'm sure you've ridden behind it and are completely comfortable with it's performance. Again I wish you the best of luck with your boat! I'm jealous! Would love to be able to own such a icon!

So it would be an x star, just a foot shorter.. tell me where the logic is in that. no one would want an x star? X-star is 24 feet. You also think every x star is 160 grand... Go buy a G23, that seems to be your boat of choice anyway from the looks of your posts on WW.

Edit: I have NEVER seen a boat show priced x star at 160k. The boat show price on a G25 at the Dallas show was 140!

Aric wow you just don't get it and I'm not sure why you feel such a need to try and knock me down on this. You seriously know nothing about these boats if you think all it takes is a pickle fork to turn a x30 into a star. Their hulls nor their top decks are nothing alike.

Now as for price I know there is a thread on one of these sites that talked about the $160k priced star at one of the recent boat shows. But big deal they can be had for less and that price was probably bloated by a dealer that didn't want to sell. Fourfourty just bought one and said they are much less than that, great. Also I seen that pic of the G25 on this thread that showed the price at $142k, crazy! I've said it on other threads price on the G is crazy too, to much for me to justify especially with a kid getting ready to start college in 4yrs and another only 4yrs behind her! But I've also said if price wasn't a factor yes I'd take a G as that seems to be the boat to beat right now as far as wakes go. But like many say on here I wouldn't just blindly spend that kinda money on loyalty alone. Bet your bottom dollar I'd be spending a day on each to see for myself how they performed. I have no hatred for any boat manufacture unlike some seem to have.

If you pickle a 30, the hull would have to change. It would be a different boat for sure. In terms if looks they'd be identical.

Nordicron- I am not sure that you understand what our frustration is about....

Do you see Aric and I over on PN, complaining about how the G23 has an interior that is shaped for square people? Or how we think that it looks like a barge?? Do we jump into threads, and say "EERRRRMAAHHGERD, I would never pay 160k for a G23 with its lipless wake, and rediculous graphics!!". Do you see us telling Nautique owners that they don't know what their boat cost, or that a SAN230 should have the wide bow like the G23?

No, you don't.....

Every boat is going to have things that fanboys are going to nit-pick. Save it for WW. We all have our opinions over here, and sometimes we will but heads. With you, however, it seems you are always subtly bashing MC. I am a member at TMC, and you do the same thing there. We get that you love Nautiques, and we understand that. Nautiques are fantastic boats! If you want to be helpful here on TT, we would love to have you. If you are constantly going to ask loaded questions about why MC would do this, or that, and constantly question the design of MasterCrafts. And tell forum members that they are wrong about their own boats....... well......we don't really need that sort of thing.

Disclaimer- The statements about the G23, were generalized comments, based off of the opinions of other people. Although I do agree with some of it, I do think the G23 is a fantastic boat. I simply like the new XStar better.

Actually I don't have a clue if your on PN or not, could care less. Nor do I search around other forums looking for your old posts.

Anyway yes I understand, you don't welcome non-owner opinions or observations. Thats awesome also. But to tell me a x-30 is a Star without the pickle is stupid.

Dude, they look the same! I'm not talking about wakes! What do you think the 30 was designed after??

And fourfourty, that's exactly my frustration. But, when you're the best, of course you're gonna have a big red target on your back :D
