Funny, I heard different. From what I hear Travis is THE greatest place in the world for recreational boating:rolleyes: Especially tubing:rolleyes: I also hear it is law to have at a minimum 4k in ballast filled while passing any courses. Also while passing said course you must travel tops 10 mph and minimum 10 mph....

Ok Folks,
this is what everyone says is the worst wake ever produced behind a Mastercraft. It is a 1998 Prostar190,hydrorails,powerslot,Lt-1,4 blade Oj.
I have got to suffer with this every run I take.I ski at 39-1/2 off@36 mph and this is what it looks like from the business end.
Bottom line the 1998-2000 years are not as bad as everyone says,IMHO

Flashydubber points out something it took me awhile to learn when we received our X-star last Summer. Everyone said you really have to weight the boat to get a good wake. Not true IMHO. Just DO NOT use the built in ballast, but place 400-500 lbs in each rear locker to get a moderate sized wake with a tight lip. Fat sacs in the locker centers the ballast much farther back then the rear built in tanks. You can then add more weight, including the stock tanks, to increase the wake size. But the stock rear tanks by themselves gives a wake with no lip.
Since every extra pound of ballast is more gas burned, we spent quite a bot of time achieving the shape and size we wanted with the least amount of ballast.
flashydubber
10-07-2008, 11:15 PM
Adding the extra wieght in the back lockers (on top of the factory ballast) adds that lip on the wake which in my opinion "wakes up" the wake of the boat.
Yet to experience a fly-high kit and ride behind it.... but ya.. more wieght the more $$$ goes out the tail-pipe....
canuck gas is almost alot more expensive... to the tune of about $4.50 a gallon....
