Funny, I heard different. Also while passing said course you must travel tops 10 mph and minimum 10 mph....

Ok Folks,
this is what everyone says is the worst wake ever produced behind a Mastercraft. It is a 1998 Prostar190,hydrorails,powerslot,Lt-1,4 blade Oj.
I have got to suffer with this every run I take.I ski at 39-1/2 off@36 mph and this is what it looks like from the business end.
Bottom line the 1998-2000 years are not as bad as everyone says,IMHO

Flashydubber points out something it took me awhile to learn when we received our X-star last Summer. Everyone said you really have to weight the boat to get a good wake. Not true IMHO. Just DO NOT use the built in ballast, but place 400-500 lbs in each rear locker to get a moderate sized wake with a tight lip. Fat sacs in the locker centers the ballast much farther back then the rear built in tanks. You can then add more weight, including the stock tanks, to increase the wake size. But the stock rear tanks by themselves gives a wake with no lip.

Since every extra pound of ballast is more gas burned, we spent quite a bot of time achieving the shape and size we wanted with the least amount of ballast.

CottagerGreg
10-08-2008, 12:15 AM
Adding the extra wieght in the back lockers (on top of the factory ballast) adds that lip on the wake which in my opinion "wakes up" the wake of the boat.

Yet to experience a fly-high kit and ride behind it.... but ya.. more wieght the more $$$ goes out the tail-pipe....

canuck gas is almost alot more expensive... to the tune of about $4.50 a gallon....

Its a pretty good stretch of water 90% of the time. I have skiied with the 5 Seasons ski team before, but never in a show or anything. Seems that ripping a few good turns at 22' off doesn't excite a crowd like a 5 high pyramid so I lost interest.

Or better, depending on what you do behind boats.

2012 X-30, 1st pic is just stock, and the others are with about 2200 lbs total.

22 MPH

Some of us like the new direction. Need to keep one's mind open.

X15 with around 1600 lbs in the rear 1400 lbs in the bow and three people.

Wow. That wake has a nice ramp for an X-15. I use just stock ballast and the ramp on my wake is rather abrupt.

Open mind, nonsense! Makes as much sense as posting a bunch of pics of slalom wakes on the wakeboarding threads.

If I could only use one source to get my news it would be Fox. ;)

1st pic is on Pine Coulee, my daughter doing a backroll. Her rolls are kind of cool, she takes the board way behind her.

2nd pick would be on Chestermere but before it got to busy. Worst lake to wakeboard on though. I haven't been there for 5 years? The frist two would be stock ballast and a 350 pound sac in the bow.

3-5 are when we rode with Dustin Ofarrel he was on the pro tour for a while there, not sure if he's riding on it this year. The boat would have been pretty loaded up, 10 in the boat with stock ballast and a 350 pound sac in the bow.

This is my other daughter doing a roll in front of the tug on the Okanagan. NOt much height on this one.

Ah, but it was posted in the general section, not in the Waterskiing/Barefoot section and the title of the post did not restrict it to slalom wakes only.;)

Just kidding, I hear you as there was intent.

We also hit Pine Coulee about 2 weeks ago, cool water temp but the wind was low. Good to see girls doing inverts, makes the guys step it up. Used to go to Chestermere back in the day before the $40 launch fee, now we ride at Ghost mostly - everybody has got a dry suit.

ya Craig i was on the coulee Holiday monday in my buddies 2006 x-2. That was the first time out for his boat so it was more just making sure everything is in working order for the summer.

We were the only ones boarding, other then the 20 boats fishing. Water temp was 62, so a little cool, but that' about the average at ghost in the summer isn't it? : )

I get my boat in about three weeks time. Can't wait!

Speaking only for myself, I like seeing both the flat ski wakes and the nice boarding wakes. My family does both; my boat pulls both.

I appreciate seeing all the great things that MC boats do.

All good pics.

Let's face it, any pic involving an MC and water is a good pic!
