Has anyone had any problems with the srews in the carpet on the side of the trailer hitting the hull of the boat when pulling out of the water. If so do you have a fix for the problem. The boat is still under warranty so it will be going back. I had a 96 prostar and never had any problems with the MC trailer. Also if you have a sport boat trailer does it have a roller where the MC trailer does. This boat is a pain to get on the trailer properly compared to my 96 prostar. I have tried backing in deep and shallow cant find a happy medium.

Can you post a picture? Is "Sport Boat" the brand/model of the trailer?

I will try and post pics. Yes sport boat is the manufacturer of the trailer, they are located in California.

We have a 2005 SportBoat Trailer with our X-2. We have had a problem with the screws coming out of the carpet on one side of the trailer wheel well/fender. Ours is on the side facing the back of the trailer, so we don't have a problem with it hitting the hull while loading. But it does tend to vibrate and sometimes flap against the hull while driving. :( The only fix I can say is take to your dealer. That is on our list of things to be fixed when it goes to the shop next.
As for loading, I back it in until the tops of the fenders are under water (about an inch or two). That works well for us.
Do you have the diamond plate on your trailer? If so, any problems with rust?

Yes we have diamond plate on the trailer, no rust yet. We back untill the tops of the fenders go under about 1-2 inches. Does your trailer have a roller.

Nope no roller. Just carpet bunks and a boat buddy.
We have found rust on the diamond plate at the tongue area. Funny, that is just about the only part of the trailer that doesn't get wet and we get rust. :(
What part of CA are you in?

I have a buddy with a '97 Centaurian with the Sport Boat trailer with a single axle. The axle is held up with 1 leaf spring on each side, each leaf spring with exactly 1 leaf in it.
Two weekends ago, driving down a steep hill into Crescent Bar on the Columbia River in WA, he had the 1 leaf on the right side blow apart at about 30 mph. He stopped immediately (maybe 20' or 30') but the trailer fender baked on the tire burning all the paint. A tow job & $350 the trailer has multi-leaf springs on both sides now. The dealer said the old single leaves are unsafe.
Made me go look at my trailer to see how it's springs are built.

We had that happen to us with our '88 PS 190 single axle trailer. Not a fun experience. Had to have it towed home too. The tow company thought they could put it on a flat bed to get it home...not. Thank goodness those prop guards are stong.
One of the good things about these new SportBoat trailers is no more leaf springs.

The new sport boat trailers have torsion bars, at least on the tandem axle trailer. I hope they hold up!!
We need Pics here.
I don't know of a Sport Boat Trailer ???????? I thought they were all "Mastercraft" Trailers. Built in Vonore.

Some will and some won't. Malibu also used Sport Boat trailers. Around 2001 they got a bad batch of torsion bars. Suspension collapses and the tire rotates up into the fender.

Not all MC boats come with MC Trailers. CA seems to use a lighter weight trailer made of C channel instead of being fully boxed. I've seen a few of them here in WA & they were under boats that either had CA tags or had been brought north with someone as they moved.
SportBoat Trailers is actually a brand name. Centaurian & 'bu have used them over the years.
