View Full Version : Yellowing gel coat

My 94 PS 205 deck has started to yellow just a bit and I can actually see where the registration letters were from the PO. I have wetsanded that out and now it looks great. Now I have some nice looking white sections on the bow of the deck. I am planning on wetsanding the rest of the deck, however was wondering if there was another less labor intensive way to remove the yellowing.

I would take pictures, but pics would do it no justice as it is only slight, but noticeable. I am quite familiar with 3M buffing compound but don't think that it is enough to cut through the yellowing. It has taken some 600 grit up to 800 then 1000 and buff out with an electric variable speed buffer. Any other suggestions are helpful. If wetsanding is the best way to approach this, then I will do what I have to do.
