Trust me, I wont be voting for the current administration, and I wont be writing anyone in. We need something new and if we move "forward" we'll just sink. The bow is under water and we need to try a different maneuver. I'm not sure he can fix it all but at least he has a business background and believes our country should be powerful and lead by example. Voting Romney here!!

The liberal press has already pronounced Osama the victor. He will probably win thanks to our corrupt voting system and his propaganda campaign. Would be great to toss his arse out on the street and fix our nation. At this point I will just settle for an end to all of the attack ads on TV and radio.

Voila! In view humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin, vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.
The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous.
Verily this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that its my very good honour to meet you and you may call me V.

Disclaimer - My opinion: Part of the problem is that we are presented with two choices of which neither is exactly stellar in my opinion. So we end up having to choose between the lesser of the evils.

The dinosaur died, why has not party-aligned politics! Party line politics needs to go away. I guess just wishful thinking on my part that there would be less them vs us and the end result is little to nothing accomplished.

That is a negative. There are at least 6 choices on the ballot in Ohio that are affiliated with a party, and another 7 that are "write-in" candidates. So in Ohio there are 13 people on the ballot for president.

We will be stuck in this rut until people get it out of their heads that you only have the two choices that are presented to you....or that you can only vote against one or the other instead of voting for who you think will do the best job.

Yes, it is. Negative situation = I think negatively about it. ;)

My ballot has many choices as well. With campaign financing the way it is, exactly zero of those other choices have any chance. So the end effect is two choices.

Yes, goes back to my negative thinking. Like in business, which product does better, the product technically better, or the product better marketed? :twocents:

Real Political reforms are needed. Term limits will not fix shxt - that will present just a slightly different situation to manipulate. If anything it will just make it slightly harder to follow the bread crumbs back to the manipulators. I'm not saying term limits are not needed - just like putting a bandaid over an infected sore without doing anything else to treat the infection. :twocents:

Speaking of marketing, the "'vote for x because I tell you so" pamphlets, with no real facts or worse yet just propaganda BS, are worse than ever this year.

Absolutely no apologies needed. I did re-read it a couple times and concluded it was well meant and not to be taken negatively. I threw in the smiles to keep it light hearted. I spent some time using the internet last night and this morning to do research on some various issues I consider important - I'm headed out to cast my vote. I've been voting since 78. Voted for Reagan while stationed overseas. Voted for independents too. Tried to stop that "sucking sound". Never voted a party line. There was a time I got excited over this stuff. I have hope for the future but not as I see it today. I equate politics with WWE on every level. I don't trust either side of the isle. Politicians don't serve constituents. They serve themselves and each other. Some start out with honorable goals but are tainted by the machine. To get anything done they compromise their morals. I don't know what the answer is but I don't see it in this election. I vote Romney, not because I think he's a great choice. Just know i don't want to live in a welfare nation. Hopefully I'm wrong but yes, when I think politicians I think negativly. For starters, I'd like to see them live by the laws they pass.

All this said, we're still, by far, the best thing going.

God bless America.

Its been a hobby / pastime of mine to read about organized crime for over 20 years... A byproduct of that reading is the link between organized crime and politics... And I got to the point where I can’t tell the difference between a gangster and a politician. So the mindset of “voting for the lesser of two evils” does not work for me – I’d still be voting for evil. This is why I have not voted since 1992, why I will never vote again. Undecided has nothing to do with it – they are both legalized criminals, they just have a good way to cover their tracks.

Footnote: Last time I voted in 92, I voted for Ross Perot... Because it was a protest vote and I figured if he won SNL would become funny again

If you don't, you will end up with someone who is even more polar opposite from RP. Gentlemen, I have to say that I fully reject the notion that says you are throwing your vote away if you don't vote for one of the two parties. If voting for someone that you feel is best suited for the job is what you feel is right, then it is your right to do so.

Unfortunately, there is so much going on and no one - I mean no one serves this country anymore unless they are wearing a uniform. The goomba's in D.C. as well as every state are vying for a position to place themselves in a position of power and get early information on commerce.

Unfortunately - each vote now is counted differently. You have every right to vote for anyone you want. But if the country gets worse and the incumbent wins by the spread of the votes passed on to anyone else than there will be no complaining by those. If you complain...well you know the dialog... :)

What's sad is the fact that what we think we know about the issues is only fodder spewed by the politicians who practically invented marketing with their own self promoting propoganda. Which is perpetuated by a media that brings us jerry springer and wife swap, etc ad nauseum.... Consumed by a public who has the attention span of a gnat. And there's not an evil liberal media any more than it's all fox friends, they need each other. What sells is what we get. If we weren't buying in things would change.

Its the idea that someone needs to shift their views to that has led to this country being in the trouble that it is in.

Politicians playing to minorities to appease them does nothing but increase peoples reliance on the welfare state. As someone that grew up in a blue collar auto/farming town in Michigan and now having lived in New Orleans for four years I have seen first hand what the welfare state causes.

Where I grew up regardless of if you were blue collar or white collar you were willing to work hard and believed that you would be treated fairly, which I came to regard as the norm.

Moving to New Orleans I see people that want to do nothing and expect everything in return and if your views run contrary to theirs, well then you're either a racist that doesn't understand their plight, or spoiled. The oil spill in 2010 really brought this to light when every tom dick and harry in southern Louisiana was applying for BP oil money regardless of if they worked in a field effected by the spill and screaming bloody murder if they didn't get it.

Maybe shifting their views wasn't a good way of stating it but the republican party must change their approach if they want to win in a changing country. If you want to win you have to play the game! The GOP's reaction to this election could be the study of many masters and PhD theses.

So.....here we are right back where we started a divided country. I hope that we as a country can begin to work together for the good of country. We cannot afford to play games with the economy. My hope 4 years ago was that Obama could unite us, I accepted the voice of the people. My hope in the next 4 years, that we can let the bulls*#t of birthplace, college grades, blah blah go to to rest. I hope that now that Obama is a lame duck president he will work to make us all better in the next 4 years.

I am an optimist and always will be.....based on a 50 to 49 split of popular vote (too early to call) no mandate was issued. Now is the time to tell Washington to finally go to work and solve issues!

My .02 cents..............for what it's worth.

Well said -- agreed.

There's a little-known saying that goes "There are two types of people- those who separate people into two types and those who don't".

People naturally make distinctions and Republican/Democrat, Conservative/Liberal, Conservative/Labour or Pro-Democracy/Communist work fine for this. Since the Libertarian and Independent parties haven't taken off, we'll only have two major parties.

Adding more parties basically dilutes the main ones and adds to the debate- good at times because it adds options but bad if a speedy resolution is needed and neither of the main parties wants to cooperate.

I didn't think there would be enough legitimate voters to remove that socialist from office. I just never expected that people with a job and a boat would support him. Unbelievable!

too many illegitimate voters were bought and paid for by the socialist.

the job + boat thing will change over the next 4 yrs.

fewer jobs = fewer boats

People have more important issues that they vote for in times of a struggeling economy... You know... like whether gays should be allowed to get married, or whether someone can smoke pot legally.

I can't believe it either. I still feel like our politics are so polarized and even scripted to the point the tail really is wagging the dog. I'm not some great leader who's gonna rally the troops and lead our country out of the abyss. I can however try to be part of the solution and not part of the problem.

Gods Will be done.

I guess you love the hanging chad?

No, the CIA did that.

No, the CIA did that.

Oswald was the only shooter and acted totally alone. His wife, Maria, still lives in Dallas too.

Well, I would assume with more and more states jumping on the band wagon it can only mean they will be suing the Fed Gov over it at some point.
