Went out this weekend in southern Ohio on Muskinghum River. Air was 47 and raining most of the weekend, but my buddy got a new ski and we had to give it a few runs. The water was chilly at best. :D

89 PS 190 351w/slot 15 off 30-32MPH

First few are me, second are my ski mate.

Love that last shot... Almost no leaves and wet suit - plus the water is glass... what ski did he get?

47 degrees? Coffee in the boat - shower to load wetsuit? :D

He got a Conelly Outlaw. I fell in love with it. It rides so high out of the water it feels a lot faster than my Concept. My boat doesnt have a shower so we fill a cooler with hot water and then get what we call "Hot Dips" which consists of dumping hot water from the cooler down the wet suit once back in the boat. Gotta love late season Ohio skiing. :D

My buddy got the Outlaw this summer, and I bought a Radar Theory. Both are really fun skis for 50 y/o dudes that don't want to admit we are that old:)

Us 50 y/o's here are younger than most other 30 y/o's when it comes to having fun and being in shape... :) :D ....never give in to the age number...

Getting old is a figment of your imagination. Just deny it entry into your mind. That’s my theory and I’m sticking with it.

Enjoy! A cold front moved in on this side of the coast; no boarding for me this weekend. Oh well, guess I go scuba diving.

Okay it was a decent day in Henry, Il - water 54 degrees and air 68 degrees - got chased off by unexpected thunder and lightning.... 2013 goals... lead with hips and counter rotate shoulders at turn - pull thru wake.. Still lead turns with with shoulders - causing me to get out of stacked position.

Still a great day...don't get to practice enough... Friend Joe is the flyer... :) was a blast!

Good work. We also got out again today at Springfield Lake in Akron. Air temp was right around 70 and no idea what the water temp was other than friggin COLD. We are gonna try one more over thanksgiving. Well see.

Sat was quite possibly my last time out until Polar Day. Not too bad really. We've actually had a warming trend until today. Conditions yesterday at the kinda nasty Trinity River site; 71 air, 62 water with 35 MPH winds (which explains the river choice). Nothing close to the picturesque day we had last Wed at Marine Creek when the water was 55. Probably gonna shut down to get some work done on my trailer. Which is not to say I wouldn't ski behind someone else's boat.
First 2 pics are me at -19. Good examples of bad form. Got one of a past MSC Pres.

Lookin good. I would take 55 degree water in a heart beat. However I dont think it was close to that. :D

Thanks...it has ear protection for those less than elegant spills....I am sure I'll need next season..when I work on getting my form better... This is only season 2 of serious slalom....my bad form trumps yours...lol. Only took me 4-5 outings to figure out I wasn't counter rotating shoulders which caused me to get center of balance out over ski which pull me a bit over...got a rock hard core though :)... That's what I get for hangin' with wake boarders... :D

Last Thursday Nov.8 was it for us with a little free skiing. Wore the neoprene beanie for the second run after getting a bad ice cream headache! Cooler full of hot water in the back of the boat to get the hands back up to temp after a run.

Don't remember - long time back but still enjoy the video from that fall and winter - first season course skiing and couldn't quit. I remember Plainfield IL too lived in Oswego when I was young and would go to the county fair there.

I love the second pic.

I'm new to waterskiing, having taken it up at the ripe age of 45. One of my hopes is to be able to lay out like that and throw a nice wall of water as my ski carves into the turn. I'm getting closer but probably need someone with more experience to give me some pointers.

Great pics.

Just north of you in Madison, Wisconsin. Lots of great places for watersports. And, the addition of a "new" 2004 X-10 late this Summer will help us get out more often next year, I'm sure.

Glad to hear my best days will be ahead of me!

Where in Madison do you ski? We're still getting out on Lake Monona. If you see a black/gray stars and stripes swing over and say hello.

Will do! We usually head to Lake Mendota, as Marshall Park is literally 5 minutes from our door and I store the boat in the garage all Summer. We put in there and then ski in the sheltered area near Spring Harbor.

However, I'm looking for other options, as well. I've thought about making our way to Lake Monona next year to see how the water is. Do you find it is better skiing than Mendota?

We also made our way to Rock Lake a few times last year and enjoyed that a lot. We went midweek when there was no traffic to speak of. The water was a lot cleaner and about 10 degrees warmer at the time.

Now that the boat has been upgraded, I'm sure we will be looking to hit more of the area lakes in the future. Any recommendations are appreciated.

Mig, your mirror is upside down. Nice pic though.
Musicmd,
We go to Monona mostly for the fact that the course is there. Live in Cottage Grove but mostly put in at Olin. Monona doesn't have so many large boats, but the traffic s still enough that we usually get out in the early am on weekends. Getting out for a nooner tomorrow.

32 hours left for the 2012 season..... bye bye 2012 - I know I won't be makin' out...

It was a very very good season... Hope we get some snow and rain - still pretty much a drought in most places...
