So ive got my pistons in place, crank and cam. Timing cover, and balancer are next. What are all the sensors I need to replace / install? where do they go. I have a 1990 prostar worth 351 w.

Thanks,
Nikolai

If the engine ran before you tore it down, you shouldn't need to replace any sensors. However, if you boat is a '99, you have a Chevy 350, not a 351.

Haha, oops, I used my phone to type the thread, I meant to write 1990. The motor was not in running condition at all.

In that case, you should only have a temperature sensor and an oil pressure sensor. Those, I would change. I would also change over to an HEI distributor, rather than use a points type that may have been converted to electronic. Yours may be electronic from the factory, though.

what would you suggest as a replacement for the distributor?

I would call SkiDim for that- a newer version would be more reliable and stable, IMO.
