Hi,

New to Team Talk and have been lurking here a few months. After reading all the great threads on restorations of older boats, I find myself looking for a Stars and Stripes or late 80s ProStar. I would prefer a boat that is 83 or newer so as not to have to worry about stringers or floor rot, but would also consider an older boat if it came along. Looking in the $1000-3000 range--remember project boat. I live in SW Georgia, but would be willing to travel +/-500 miles to find the right boat for the right price. If you have or know of someone with a project that they would like to sell please drop me a line.

Thanks,

Ansley

I must have seen 5 S&S or so on craigslist. Anywhere from 78 to 85 I think. I searched for Mastercraft from Michigan, Ohio, No Carolina. I think most were in Michigan. Both red and blue, no other colors.

Yes, I have found several that look like great boats and fair asking prices. Most are up north and are too far to drive. I have found a few in the south that are just too high in asking price for the condition of the boat. Was really interested in one--85. Really like the color scheme--gray/black. Needed new interior, some TLC on the hull and trailer but the owner would budge off 5,000. Seemed offended when I offered him about 2,500.

Sorry, I should have updated this thread. I actually found a 77 S&S that I brought home last Sunday afternoon. Thanks for the heads up though.
