Gotta get some video of the retrieves....those birds were huge. Dropped 4 out of one flock. Had one cripple that took off on a dead run and by the time I released my lab, it was 2/3 across the 80. The dead sprint, tackle and trek back with head and chest high carrying a goose was a cool sight. He loves his job :-)

Good to see a fellow waterfowler on here. I've been hunting ducks and geese since I was 15, I'm 60 now. Trained retrievers for Hunt Tests and Field Trials for about 20 years, don't have the time anymore. I'm glad to see you hunt with a good retriever. Not only are they the absolute best hunting companions, but rarely will you loose a shot bird with a good retriever. Our hunting season here in Kansas hasn't started yet, but when it does I'll be out there. Nothing better!

Another waterfowler here as well. Our season does not start for another 6 weeks. Hunting since 13 and now 50. I have owned 4 labs and field trialed one. What great dogs!

Been waterfowl hunting since I was 20....21 years ago. This is my 3rd lab and the best one so far. He saw 30+ ducks and 100+ pheasants before he was a year old and hunted with another good veteran dog during that year.

Geese were very leary and circled 2-3 times before committing both yesterday and today...actually had a single dead on the ground and another flock working...pleasantly surprised he didn't break.

Anxious to see more waterfowl pics when your season starts.

Busy time of year for me. Footed on thurs night, Bow hunted on friday night, waterfowl hunts yesterday morning, night and this am.
