Up for sale is a 1998 Mastercraft Sportstar Closed Bow. The boat is in good condition and has no major flaws in the gel or vinyl. The 265hp EFI engine has 548 hours and runs great. The boat has a CD player/Ipod hookup w/sub and 4 speakers. Also included is a MC cover, red bimini and a single axle MC trailer (good tires and new spare). The boat is located in Minocqua, WI and is available for test drives. Asking $12,950 or best offer. I found another boat and this one needs to go. Reasonable offers will be accepted!

note:the boat is not beached in the first picture....the water is 3' deep;)

I was sort of kidding, there's a fella in the UK that just picked up a project Prostar that sat full of water for 6 years or something like that. He's got his work cut out for him.
Sorry for the threadjack....

I've got the same boat, same year, same colors, just with a tower added. My parents own Island City Ice Cream in Minocqua (old DQ).

Good luck with selling. I love our boat. Someone's gonna get a great one!

I have been there a time or two:D! I have seen a few identical boats in town, but have not seen one with a tower yet. Thanks!!!

She looks like the twin to mine! Only difference, besides the sharper looks, is that the EFI/TBI (?)got jacked out by PO so now she's regular-carbed--4 bbl Holley, 5.0L 305.

After staring more and more, does anyone know if the 98 Sportstar and 98 Sportstar 19 are one and the same?

Mine has the SportStar logo in black and a scripted "nineteen" in red on both sides near the transom.

And, I'm sure she will be gone quickly. I wouldn't drop a penny ;-)

A carbed motor? Really?

I took the Sportstar Nineteen stickers off....it is the same boat

Really.....
although some understanding most likely lost in translation, the original 350 LT-1 did not make it through the first Mount Fuji Japan winter, with no winterizing, duh and ouch!!!
And then the PO got it replaced with the Indmar 305. Whomever did this change-out supposedly just moved all the gear off the LT-1 and onto the 305 and pulled all the EFI gear off to make it work....no MC support in this Japan location to do much else....It had a Rochester non-marine 2bl carb when I got it.

Thanks for the decal info.

what you gonna buy next?

I have a line on a 1996 190 LT-1

If that deal does not work out, I would like to find a 1997 190 or a 19 Skier since I have not owned either one yet. With 7 months of winter dead ahead I am in no big hurry

By any chance, do you know the length of the tanny and throttle control cables? I'll change mine out on my 98 nineteen, and probably need to pull them first to measure, but would rather just order the right sizes, if you know. Thank much.
