View Full Version : continuation of interior falling apart thread

From those who may remember a thread I started on the last board (link below). I though I'd update everyone. Ron Hill in TN stepped up and helped me some. Gave me 3 free skins (no installation). I've replaced to date: rear bench, 2 rear hatches, drivers seat bottom, 2 OB skins, 2 side panel skins and spotter's seat. Of these, 3 were free. Not too bad, but still somewhat of a disappointment for a prestine 2000 boat w/ 280 hours. I visited an identical 2K 205 boat on my lake to look at his factory heat install routing etc cause I'm adding one as a winter project, and his boat had almost identical interior issues. He mentioned he was very disappointed, and funny thing was his interior fell apart at almost the same time. Anyway she's all back together and looking and running awesome! Now if someone can set me up w/ a good deal on a pair of swimstep brackets (listed in wanted section) for a 2004 X-2, I'm not sure I could contain my excitment. Yeeeehaaaaaa!

My observer chair and rear seat are really pulling apart this year. Are the new skins made with better fabric and stitching?

I am glad to have read this as I am currently looking for a used 205.
I will now stay away from the 2000.

I was also looking for a 2000 or so PS205. I guess I'll have to go one year newer now or go to a 99.

Did you sell your 1995?

Not yet. I've only advertised it here and on one other site for a couple of weeks. I hate :( to get rid of it becasue its been very good to me but I really want a v-drive.

I saw it for sale, if you were closer I would be interested.
It has one of the two color scheme's that I like.
What is the top end with a few people in the boat?

Ohio, Seems to be the same stuff, but I'd assume it's probably from a different roll due to time. It's weird because some of the interior is holding out just fine. You can feel the threads, and if they're hardish, it's only a matter o time. If you follow the thread (no pun intended) the 99's are worse, and many owners said their 2k's were just fine. Awesome boat exp this issue, LOVE IT!
Mark, Thanks, nice to be back :woohoo:

Ohio, around 43 mph. You'll get up footin if that's what your into. A few weeks ago at Shasta Lake my boat was the footin, slalom corse and some wakeboard boat of choice and we had 7 ski boats. MC rules :headbang:

It looks like its in good shape and has great colors, you should'nt have a problem selling it.
If you get serious about selling it, I suggest trader on line, I sold my Barefoot 200 last month 3 hours after it was listed.
