I have 3 hours on my Acme 541 on the 95' now and have some unquantifiable data to report.

1. Night and Day difference from stock prop as for vibrations. My boat if at idle speed you turrned the rudder hard right or left you got some good vibrations in the boat. This prop, none at all.
2. Prop is MUCH quieter. At all speeds you get less noise from the prop.
3. Slalom Wake slightly softer and smaller. I don't have a scientific way to test it but you can tell a difference.
4. No stop watch but definetely 0-36 mph times decreased significantly.
5. My boat nows tops out at about 4600 rpms or 49mph. This is a net gain of 150 rpms and almost 2 mph!!

This is my second 541, if anyone is thinking of getting a new prop GO CNC!! They are the ticket!! :worthy:

That's it jeff ,I'll put mine tomorrow.
I can't beleive i haven't put mine on yet,it's been in the box since the group buy.
Planning on pulling 10 skiers on Monday,it will definitely help.
I pulled 8 on combos 3 weeks ago and got a bit of cavitation on the pull up but i think i gave too much throttle at first and when i backed up a bit everything went fine and everyone got up real easy.
How'bout the rooster tail ?

Yes, less rooster tail. For what it's worth, I can nail mine all the way out of the hull and it won't cavitate. One nice after effect of the prop is you get some serious braking power! Pull back the throttle at any speed and it stops the boat in probably half the distance the stock prop did!!

jr, and don't forget the cool growling noise...or does yours not make that noise?

the noise sounds like a noisy set of gears when you let off the throttle; mine makes it, and the consensus on here is that everyone elses does too

Ahh!! i think i know exactly what you mean. Yeah it's pretty cool! I am so pleased with this prop. Same model prop did wonderful things on my 86' Skier 19.

I've grown to love the cnc growl.

Tried out my "new to me" Acme 541 last weekend. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Better hole shot, smoother and 1 or 2 more mph at top end.

I didn't do any footin but i'm sure the hole shot will be mucho improved and I won't have to hold my breath as long!

Anyone thinking of a 541, I highly recomend it.

Footin,

It is pretty amazing how smooth and quiet that little guy is. I think it is very well matched with these Mastercrafts, not to mention the fact that it looks really agressive when you view the boat from behind.

Ah yes, the "throwing star" appearance.

I think you are right. This many opinions can't be wrong. Can anyone tell me the price tag on the 541? And what about gas usage? Is this a more efficient prop?

I'm lovin' the 541 on my '96 190. Although I don't get quite 49 mph out of it, maybe 46. Jrandol, what engine are you running? I believe we have the same hull...

I think Jeff needs to GPS that ride! I am at 41-42 at 4000 rpm. I don't run any higher  but I am guessing 46.

I think I purchased mine for $329.00 delivered from BoardCo. I did not get in on the group buy so I am sure it cost me more. Anyway, it does what it says and I am not having any regrets! :toast:

Thanks Bob. That seems like a pretty cheap performance upgrade.
