I had the boat out of the water the other day to wash and wax it so I took some new pics:

Thanks! I was told that the interior was original but it's in such great condition, I have a hard time believing it.

Great looking TRISTAR. That is a TRISTAR SPORT (CLOSED BOW) 190
Same hull configuration that was used for the BAREFOOT 190. The boat was a CLOSED bow Tristar w/ a 454 HO Motor. Very few of those around. Interior looks original. The way to tell is the darker color on the interior should have minute small circles like pin holes almost, but larger.

Boat Looks awesome, You should bring it down for the Bay Area WaterSports Southern reunion on Oct 15th in Tampa

Thanks Jim! The boat isn't in good enough shape for something like the show. It has plenty of pier rash and some scrapes and dings in the gelcoat. The pin stripping is all chewed up. I have some winter project! 8p

My cousin loves to barefoot behind this boat. He says its a great wake for slalom and barefootin'. I have yet to ski behind my own boat. Maybe this weekend!

Nice Tristar!

Now, add a 2x4 across the boat in front of the rear armrests, and lift the rear seat up to make a nice sun platform. You'll have to support the rear, and should reinforce the 2x4, as well as adding tie downs to keep it from sliding forward.

Great looking boat. I have the same boat in Blue and Grey. Looks so much better then the open bow.

Thanks guys... yeah I think I might putz around with building a frame for the back seat/sunpad this winter. I like the looks of it. I will try to make it as easy to put in and take out as posssible because it really limits the seating.

I built a square Al tubular structure that mimicked a 2x4. Added a couple of spacers that fit in the structure (limited fore/aft movement), and spent big bucks on the three pieces of 2x4 to support the seat rear. One sixish+ (memory) long Al structure little thinner then 2x4, three 16"ish sections of 2x4, all very easy to store.

No pics, never thought to take any before I sold the boat. Could probably sketch up and scan something, but it will be dimensionless. Basically it was a ladder type arrangement.

If this comes out, the two X's were blocks attached to the bottom of the seat cushion and fit within the tubular Al structure. If I remember correctly we used 1" square Al tubing The ends sat in the little cubbies in front of the armrest, and it rested on carpeting to protect the gelcoat.

Dang, my little ascii art work didn't come out, guess I'll have to sketch and scan tonight

Very nice D.
I had an 88' Tristar for 5 seasons and it was a good solid boat that ran great. Sold it last summer and bought the S&S.
I miss the back seat.
Took many naps on it while anchored.
Matter of fact the first pic on the swimsuit pics thread was on that seat! ;)

Thanks Steve. We are very pleased with the performance of the boat. I'm not the greatest skier anymore but still try to get out once in a while but my cousin who is a fantastic skier loves the wake. He said it is way better than his dad's 78 S&S. He also loves the wake for barefootin'. I can't wait to get it out of the water and do a little maintenance on her.

It was supposed to be a very good footin boat.
Matter of fact a guy launches a very nice red barefoot 190 on our lake once in awhile.
Same boat but with the 454.
I also pulled a few boarders and they liked the wake @ 15-20 mph.

I think someone on here has a Barefoot 190. I'm sure glad I don't have that 454 HO with the way gas prices are.

My son wants to wakeboard and my wife wants to get a tower for the boat. Do you know of any manufacturers that make towers for the TriStar? I have seen a couple TriStars with the Monster towers but I'm not sold on their styling. If I'm going to have monkey bars on the boat, I want it to look good. :D

I can't comment on that but I have seen pics a few that looked good.
There are a few in the forum that I'm sure will have some input.
