I've got a 2011 X2 with the 5.7 Ilmor engine. We run exclusively on Lake Tahoe CA at an altitude of about 6000 ft.

Should I consider doing any special tuning for high altitude operation, or does the stock engine controller take care of all of that?

I thought that High Altitude affects carburetors mainly. (air/fuel mixtures)

but, I could be wronghttp://deephousepage.com/smilies/nixweiss.gif

Maybe a special high altitude prop is needed, talk to eric at OJ Props and get his advise. 865-458-5205

Nothing special needed, other than a lower pitch prop if you want all your rpms back.

ah, good idea about the prop - I'll look into that. It doesn't sound like I need to do any engine tweaks, which is good.

We took our boat to high altitude this summer and when we fired it up it ran like crap. Once the computer adjusted, it ran great. Did not realy notice any Loss of HP. 350 LTR fuel inj.

When I had a carb I felt the loss!
