I have a 89 tristar 351 indmar (not powerslot). I screwed up my prop a few weeks ago, so I am looking for another backup while I send off this one to Eric.

How can I tell what size my prop shaft is. Was there a standard around 1989? I don't have a caliper, but it is probably time to get one. Where do I measure?

Probably 1 inch with a 13 x 13 prop. The Powerslot option used an 1 1/8.

Agree, it is abosolutely 1", BUT just look on the prop to OCD verify it!

It is engraved with something like 13x13x3x1 LH = 13" x 13 pitch x 3 or 4 blades x 1" shaft & with a LEFT HAND rotation...

OK, so I went to wash the boat today and noticed the cotter pin on the shaft was severed...I needed to swap my 3 blade prop (on boat) for the re cupped 4 blade (thanks Eric) anyways. So I popped it off and life was great and I thought to myself look at the prop and see exactly how it stated above quote.

Then a bit of profanity uttered from my lips when I realized I gave misinformation to Mr Jones. So, the only thing that is listed on the prop end is OJ 13 13 CUPPED and between 2 of the blades (on the shank / part that is parallel to the shaft?) it says LEGEND and 108 (model #?) .

I know OJ lists their current props on their website; not sure if our older props are on there, but you may be able to get the LH / RH from that, I think?
