Here is a current picture of my 209. It's a 2002 with the tower added. This has been a solid boat for our family with 630 hours and counting. Just went slalom skiing, barefoot skiing, surfing and wake boarding yesterday! This boat may not do everything the best, but it unlike alot of boats it does everything well! We have owned it since new and it may be the last boat we ever own! We love it!

Will post mine when I get back home.

BTW: I have searched and have not gotten a definitive answer. What is the best way to ballast a 209 for a good surf wake?

Wakesurfed last weekend behind our 209 for the first time. No tower, no ballast. Just loaded the boat up with heavy people to one side and traveled in that slight circle.

Sorry that's not the advice you wanted to hear but I'm still amazed at the wake a 209 can toss at 1780 RPMs.

Cant wait to return to dale hollow one day. Glass coves and crystal clear water. Ill never forget being able to literally see the stainless steel propeller spinning under water while the boat pulled away.... Amazing!

It is clean! You can easily see 15 feet down. We met some people while we were there who have been going to DH every year for the last 25 years. They said back then, you could see 30+ feet down!
That water has spoiled us. We now look at some of the pics we have of the lake closest to us and it's... not clean.

Can't wait for our next trip back.

I would love to have an X14 but for now I do really like the look of the 209 on the water. No other boat looks like it and it stands out.

I surf behind our 209 with my seven year old at the back and wife driving, no ballast. I have 2 750# saks that I've never filled. I learned that I was not putting enough weight on my front foot. Good luck!

Love the rigs.

3 Q's: Did the 214 replace the 209? If so, what year? Is the 209 designation due to the length of the boat (20'9") I'm assuming?

I believe the 214 replaced the 209. Maybe someone else can confirm. The length of the 209 is actually 20 ft. 11 in.

Thanks! The first Mastercraft I drove and knew much about was a 209 that my old boss owned. 2 years later I ended up buying the exact same model.
