just curious if this is a marine starter . this came on the boat when i purchased it .
but i was curious if it actually was marine.

1988 tristar 351 indmar

you would need to take it out and see if the brushes are in an enclosed area. could as simple as a gasket and a cover....or as elaborate as a screen mesh at the vents.

Looks exactly like the (marine) starter i had on a Pleasurecraft 351.

its good to take it out and lube the bendix shaft and gear anyway...

Mine is identical to that in my 85 S&S. I took my wifes compact mirror (shhhh) and there was a NAPA label on the under side.

Mine came from the factory that way and has never been out so I have no reason to dought it is a marine starter
