I'm looking to get off my combo slalom ski and start using something that will help me start to advance a little more. I came across one of these skis for 50 bucks on craigslist. Anyone have any opinions on it? Worth the $50 bucks if nothing else for a community ski down the line?

My wife skis on one and she loves it. She wants to put new bindings on it instead of getting a new one.

How is that ski going to be better than the combo pair ski?

The combo pair I have came with the boat... probably from the early 80's. If nothing else, not having that sliding binding on the combo pair jabbing into my foot the whole time I'm skiing would be nice.

Ouchhhh - thats no good...

I think for $50 u can get that and use it as a house (guest) ski... for like 100-200 u can get something much better used on ski it again. and u can always buy wileys bindings...

Fx was a good shaped ski, but if you're getting up and riding with out difficulty, you'll want something with less shape, and more fitment. I had an F3 and liked it, the F1 was also nice to ride.

I like the suggestion to look at ski it again, but demoing is always nice too at a certain point.
