Previewed several lt house photos and yours stands out as one of the best

thank you very much.... I was digging through the many of pages and some peoples idea's of lighthouses just amuses me. Though I will admit there are some much better pictures than mine

Gotta love light-houses, but seldom take advantage of their use while in the '77.:rolleyes:

thats great at an iso of 3200. my 40D would be very grainy at that iso. thanks for sharing.

try shooting in shutter priority and see what type of results you get. A lot of it is trial and error and that's the great thing with digital you can shoot until your hearts content and not waste all that money having to develop film

i usually shoot in aperture priority. i'm mainly into sports and usually try to shoot at f/2.8 or better. after about iso 1600, i can really tell the difference, no matter what the settings. i'm holding out for the 7D mk II.

I was a little disappointed I couldn't find the right angle to capture what I was after and just haven't taken the time to photoshop

I've tried aperture priority but it just doesn't work at these speeds these are typically full manual

cool shot. nice panning. definitely takes some practice. my lighting is usually never consistent enough to shoot manual.
