Pondering an X55 and have my heart set on the 7.4L because of the power and the size of the boat but I see a lot of them being offered with the 6.0L. My question is can you load 16 people all your junk all the ballast for surfing and still not overwork the engine? Thanks.

I changed Props but I have the LY6 6.0 on my X45 and with 18 people full factory and maybe a small sack and a ton of crap the motor does not seem to flinch... :whoknows: I think for the difference in price that buys you several seasons of gas..

IMHO 6.0 would be a bit small. I have it in a 35 and I wish I had more power at certain times.

We have an X55 with the indmar 6.2. We use to boat @ 4000 ft so the power was great. At that altitude the 6.0 would have been underpowered. Now we're at 200 feet so it's even better. Our X45 had an 8.1 & it was great. We had a boat once that was underpowered... once. Now we go for power. :). Check with your dealer & see if changing props can help.
