The fuel pump connector is loose on my 1993 Prostar 190 LT1...

Any idea where I can get a new one? It plugs into the external electric fuel pump that mounts on the back of the engine.

The fuel pump looks like this:

Mastercraft, wants to sell me a whole new harness.

unfortunately... it only comes with the pump....maybe someone here has an extra. I bet you could use that magic silicone tape that sticks to itself to hold the connector in place. you can get a pump at summit racing for Carter GP60962...seems they are out of stock.

if it's loosing connection do anything you can to increase the diameter of the connections....until you can secure a connector or new pump....or buy the wired harness.

Sorry guys, I should have been more clear.

The connector on the fuel pump itself is fine. It's the connector on the wire side that is messed up.

Need to know how to find a replacement.

yeah, it was 470 something after the tax, 50 bucks in gas and 4 hours of my life driving

I felt ripped off, even though I got a "deal price" on it

Price was close to Midwest, so it is all the dealers gouging for that part, or Mastercraft is screwing them over in the start, either way I paid a crap load of money for a very small part

I am going to grab a spare from Napa the next time I am down in the states

NAPa no longer has those pumps as I tried to purchase one a few weeks ago. Their inventory claims they have one, but they do not.

great... just called carter - fuel pump discontinued... I guess they will become more valuable as we go forward.

There's got to be something to replace it... just talked to airtex - they make several inline external pumps. just need to find specs on Carter P60962. There's probably another pump that can be put on. Going to be a PIA if needed.

I have been looking since about 3:00pm...called Airtex, but they needed specs on the current pump. There's also Walbro and some others I found on summit racing. There's got to be a replacement. I'll find it.. :)

Found a bunch of places marine stores online that still carry this part. No mention of being discontinued. I guess I won't worry for now - can find better placed to stick $300 bucks.

Carter P60962 or Indmar 556014 searching those brings up a number of resellers. So for me I am putting this to bed for now. Darn OCDMC kicked in.... I bet I keep looking around.....

All,
My LT1 fuel pump (the carter external) electrical connector on the wire side is loose and does not make a good fit to the pump. The pump will loose voltage until I wiggle the connector. It feels loose. Does anyone know where I can get a new connector?

1995 VRS200 Maristar

Thanks!
