View Full Version : Early 90's Maristar 210 direct drive, opinions?

Currently have a late 87 pro comp 190 which I use mainly for wakeboarding and recreational use.

Thing is I ride in the sea (I'm in the UK) and need something that handles the chop a little better, is bigger and has and open bow and mainly needs to be within budget.

Seen some cheap maristar 210's which are direct drive and seem to fit the bill.

Not really concerned about the wake for either skiing or boarding just want to know how it rides, how much storage it has and anything to watch out for.

From what I gather they only made the 210 direct drive for 3 years (90 thru 92). Is the hull the same as later 210 V drives? Looks very similar.

I have a 90 Maristar 210. It has a decent ski wake, but not competition. When properly loaded it has a nice wakeboard wake. Storage is not bad for this year, but nothing compared to the new models size. It does tend to porpoise, but I'm working a solution for that. Mechanically speaking, it rarely has any issues if at all, good old 351 (some things I have caused because of stupidity).
