It looks like i will be joining you guys. My 1st boat. Its a 97 MC 205 with corvette engine. I'm into slalom ski and bare footing. This boat should be great for that, right? I have skied behind a 1996 MC vdrive and it has a little bump. This 205 should be better due to inboard, but not as good or very close to a 190 or 197? I'm not a pro so it shouldn't matter, but its on my mind. My dream boat is a mc 197 but this fits the budget for now. It gets me off the shore and in the water. $16k with 300 something hous on it. Good buy?

Sounds like a great boat. I don't think there will be that much of a difference in wake. I have a 96 prostar, and I skied behind a 205 (not sure of year) at a slalom camp a few years ago and I really didn't notice the wake.
Lets see some pictures.

Good buy?A decent buy. You didn't get hurt. Congrats. on the new ride.

I have the Prostar 190 and a friend has the 96 Prostar 205. His wake is very close to the 190's wake. We both slalom and foot. You'll be happy with the 205. It does not handle quite as precise as the 190 but you'll learn to throttle through your turns a little more than what the 190 requires. I like his 205 wake as well as the 190's.

Next thing is a boom. Loads of fun for footing.

Next after that is the Perfect Pass. I have grown very fond of my friend's PP system so I'm getting one soon for mine. Very nice for the slalom course.

A great purchase. Congrats on the boat. I used to foot on a 99 205. Little bigger of a boat. It will bring you years of enjoyment

Now like the last guy said......let's see some pictures!

I don't have it yet. I'm picking it up Saturday. I will snap some pictures and post it. Thanks for the advice. They have some used barefoot booms I can pick from. Any brand that is good or they all standard. I will have it go off the drover side. I'm very excited. Xmas came early.

I'm already thinking about that. I have my dad's ski currently, which is a 1995 HO Mach 1. Thinking another HO or maybe Goode.

Just got one of these... HO Coefficient X SL with Animal Bindings...way above my ability...but I will have to ski more to get better and grow into the ski...picked up a 2010 New Triumph as well for when I get a bit tired...don't want to flip over the front of the Coefficient... moved up from a 2011 Comp Free Ride..all great sticks...

Get the Barefoot International Boom....
My buddy has one on his Nautique 196. It is real easy to set up/take down and foot on.
We were just out on his boat bare footing last Sunday
