For some you know I've been here before, But i'm on medical leave right how and this is to close. If ya all want to hear air and ground talk go to scancal.com for radio frequency's for online scanners or inciweb.com. Fires name is the chips fire or you can go to wildlandfire.com and look for CA-PNF-CHIPS (I worked at Jarbo Gap and it has some of the craziest weather in the Feather River canyon and yes from around 2am tell mid mornings the winds can be very strong and shifty) Not me but been there....

The winds look favorable to you right now. I hope they can get it under control before it has a chance to do any serious damage.

Yikes! Had a 10,000 acre fire come within a few hundred yards of my house about 10 years ago before it was put down. Good luck!

No it's burning in the Feather River Canyon on the east side of belden but from what I can see if it jumps the river it will work it's way up and over in to Bucks. Winds in the canyon are bad and the fire is starting to make it's own wind. That's what I don't what to see. Forest Service is having a hard time on the ground and in the air because of the canyon winds and the smoke ( air attack )

Update, fires up to about 14,000 acres. 0% containment. Some pics. Pic three show a hose lay. You can see what firefighters are dealing with.
