View Full Version : How and why???

Some of you may have seen this, but I saw it for the first time this weekend. How did he do this? (So I can avoid doing it!) And the even more important question: WHY ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH WOULD YOU WANT TO DO IT?!?!?!?!?

That's about the most odd thing I've ever seen

MN 9658 JW is the registration number- looks like a '98 or '99 and I wouldn't recommend buying this boat.

He looks like he was proud of himself. I wonder how soon the electrical problems started to show up.

What a gomer.

Its part of a show..............

There are, indeed, fools everywhere.

That video has been around for awhile but I never have heard the real reason why the driver did this (and how). Their reaction does say "they were expecting it" somehow.

Thats what he does when he is not riding his PWCraft....or tubing.

Maybe he was trying to impress the girl ? ;) not

It appears that he slams it into reverse.

Bye-bye stereo and a whole bunch of other electronics. It's pretty obvious that he has done it before but I don't believe to that degree. Notice how he's putting it in gear and doesn't realize that he's killed the boat. It definitely shocked him.

What a gomer.

Wow...you're aging yourself...I haven't heard that term since Jr. High School!! 8p

That was posted in 2008.
I think he put it in reverse to drain water out the bow before trying to go forward.

Best guess is trying to do a power turn with bow weight or a wake plate in play. It also appears he overshoits neutral to reverse which would lead to a very sudden deceleration obviously bringing it down off plane in a big hurry. I can't believe it's something you're likely to do by accident.

That has been out there for a long time. It is a show thing. I have seen it done on an old American skier...slight turn and slam it into reverse. Hate to see it on a mastercraft, who cares about a POS American skier....

Isn't that an early evo hull by the looks of the upholstery? He may have a wake plate that he drops. If it already has the winged rudder it may drop the nose pretty easy?

He was washing the interior.:D

It's a 197

I posted that one a few weeks ago - I can't image the water intrusion to every connection.
Probably wanted final bilge flush.

Stay tuned...he will probably show up as one of the mega lottery winners that lost/spent it all in just a few short years. Will probably catch it on A&E one Sunday afternoon. LOL:D
