As the title states, is there anyone on here from Connecticut or close by that owns an X-80? A buddy of mine is considering one and is looking to go for a test drive. Obviously we'd pay for gas and beer! All he is interested in is surfing and entertaining.

Thanks in advance!

Well....if he was in Hawaii...we'd take him for a spin.

My 2 cents....X-80 good for entertaining....burns plenty fuel....I use mine in the pacific...so two engines is always comforting when navigating the reef out here. Wake is a bit washed out up until you hit 25+mph for wake boarding and kicks a big wake for surfing if the boat is balanced right.

yeah he's got his mind made up on the x-80, looking for one with the twin crusaders. what size waves can the 80 comfortably handle?

From what I've read, twin screws don't have near as nice wake as a single on the X80. If his primary sport is going to be surfing then he may want to ride in both a single and twin.

To be honest he's gonna end up just cruising it most of the time, we'll stick to surfing my 45. I know he'll need twins primarily for docking. The marina's, currents and wind around here is tough.
