Morning TT'ers,

I have an 85 Mastercraft S&S with a 351 and the flame arrestor the PO put on the Holley carb is too tall and preventing the engine cover from closing all the way. It also does not have the fuel pump vent connection on the side either (PO just left the hose hanging). I am curious if it could be replaced with this one from skidim.

I don't have the part number for the carb on hand and I am wondering if the flame arrestor is matched to carb or can they just be swapped out with one of different size.

Thanks engine gurus.

I would get the 2-vent (1/4" fuel pump overflow and 5/8" breather) arrestor instead.

So long as the arrestor is made for a carb with a 5" throat (both of these are) then it'll fit a Holley.

EXCELLENT! Thank you very much. What is the advantage to the additional vent? I only noticed one hose that was not connected. Should there be another?

The 1/4" nipple is for the fuel pump overflow line. The 5/8" breather is plumbed to the valve cover. This is how a PCM should have been set up from the factory.

Thanks TR for the info! Ordered the arrestor from skidim yesterday and hope to have it on before the next trip to the lake.
