Bypass it like a leaky aortic valve. Unless you're the one person who uses it in the world. Leave the old one for cosmetics.

Is it as simple as splicing the two wires from that switch together?

yep, just connect the two wires together, be sure to seal up the connection...

A water resistant splice is a must.

If you feel you must replace the switch, SKIDIM is the place.

Thanks. Saw that one and several others but was hoping to find a two wire OEM version. I know it's kinda nuts but I would like to keep it as OEM as possible.

Think of the bypass as OEM plus. All the parts are still there, but now the boat works.
