Hi guys I'm new here, I just got my first Mastercraft 2 weeks ago. Just a beautiful boat.

I was wondering what towers most people put on these.
Anyone have any pictures with different towers mounted?
The tower will be a fall project but I'm ready to buy one now If the price is right.

Also is there anything I should be wary of buying a used tower other than obvious damage?

I was looking at roswell towers as they're made here in Alberta, but I'm open to suggestions

New Dimensions seems to be the default for this era of boats.......

If you have $2300 the New Dimensions tower is the way to go, well built with a factory look. If $ is a concern I would recommend looking into the Joystick Pro-Series tower, it will run you about $700. I have seen them on a few boats on TT and they look good. My parents have one and it is very solid with no creaks or rattles.

Is that the '93 Prostar from Boise? Did you travel down to get it? Do you have more pics, interior, etc? My dad was considering that one after going out in my '92 PS205.

Hey Monty,

Welcome to the forum. Where are you at?

I didn't know Roswell was in AB, for some reason I thought they were made in BC. IMO, new dimension is the only option appearance wise, but obviously most people wouldn't be able to justify a tower that is 20% of the value of the boat. I've seen some decent "next best" towers on the forum, there's quite a few threads with photos.

It looks like you will have to be a little particular about your tower in order for it to still fit on your lift.

I just put a Roswell tower on my Maristar, and I like it. But if I could of afforded the New Dimension I would of gone that way. I love the look of the ND towers, but couldn't justify spending 2400 on a tower for a 9000 boat. Anyways, there is a picture of my Roswell tower in the "finally Installed" thread if you want to check it out.

Robert Oswell is the owner of Roswell and is (at least was) based in Edmonton and they do make nice towers or great towers considering the price.

That Looks amazing.. Just have to figure out if it looks, 1500 more amazing than the Roswel lol

It is the boat from Boise, I went down on the 12th and picked it up. Interior is in amazing shape, one split seam, one discoloured panel and some odd cracking on the engine cover. My mom has done quite a bit of upholstery in the past and said she wouldn't mind recovering the interior in the winter.. I think I may update the design as I've seen some pretty nice inspiration on here.
The boat never got much use the last 3 years so I was a bit hesitant, but he brought it into the local dealer who said it needed an new starter, battery, carb cleaning, fresh gas and filter. He had the battery and starter done before I came down but had issues getting carb gaskets.

I was able to rebuild the carb, change the filters and gas as well as oil. The boat runs great now, really shows that he looked after it...

I'm in Edmonton, well I live in Edmonton but I'm currently in Scotland for work.
Thank you, it seems like theres a great group here, tons of knowledge gained from just reading the last few weeks.
I remember reading somewhere Roswell was in Edmonton, I know there's a few dealers in and around the city that stock their stuff.

Yeah it's pretty tight to the top bar the way it sits, I can come down about 4-5 inches by dropping the side to side supports a few bolt holes.
The lift was free, I may look at getting a new one next season, but it works for now. It's just a workout cranking it up, needs a bigger gear in it or something.

I have the Joystick Pro-Series on my Prostar 190. It's a great tower for the price, although I do liket the look of that ND one.

I am up in St. Albert and Ski Wabumun, if your interested in taking a look at one in person, drop me a PM or wave me over at the lake.

I like the look of that as well did you do the install yourself? If so where did you get the tower from?

On a side note how is the algae over at wabamun? I've got a spot over at pigeon lake and just before I left to come back to Scotland the Whitefish we're dying and it was looking like it was going to bloom last week. We had the same issue last year. Gets disgusting.

Unfortunatly no I didn't install it myself or even buy it, came on the boat from the PO. I would have liked it moved forward about 4 inches to match up the the slant of the windshield.

I have looked into Joystick in the past and they are availible from a few folks online.

Installing a tower is pretty easy thou, especially with a few helpers to help see where exactly to place it. Scary part is drilling the first hole the other 7 are pretty easy. Typical rule measure 3 times drill once!!!!!!

Wabamun is still good, Blooms at Pigeon, Lac St. Ann, and a few other this past week. As I understand this is pretty usual for around here, unfortunatly.

Have you looked at the Aerial Airborne towers? I know there are some mixed reviews on them but I like the one I put on my 88 mc190. 82231

I would have guessed this was a ND.
How much are they? Any flexing? Do you have a front shot of that?

I like the Vapor for the price.

Looks similar to ND, but without the crushing cost on an old boat. On a new boat, ND are affordable, old boat - not so much.

So do I. They look really sharp at only 800 bones. Do you have one or know anyone with one? Does it flex alot?

I love the ND I just couldn't come off the money for the tower only. The Aerial Airborne is $1099 alone and with everything I got for the price of the ND.

Is the mini tower the same price as the regular one?

I almost bought an aerial tower but the people at H20 Warehouse lied to me and said they had 4 in stock then magically when I ordered it, they were all gone. I was going to have to wait over a month to get it in, being the middle of season that was not an option. So, I cancelled the order and could not be happier with my Roswell tower. I have heard mixed reviews on the aerial towers not being sturdy and making a lot of noise when in tow, but have also heard from people saying they are great. Everyone has different opinions on towers. My first choice was the ND, but the price was too much for my older boat. Second choice was Roswell, but I decided to go with Aerial b/c of how much you got for the money. After, they messed it up and lied, I went back to Roswell and could not be happier with my purchase. It was not a hard install either. Getting the boards off the floor makes the boat much more comfy for everyone enjoying the boat!!!

If anyone decideds to go with Roswell westmarine.com had the Area 51 tower priced better than anyone else I found.

I bought mine from only inboard.com. Ordered it on a Tuesday and had it on Friday. Excellent service. But you bought a good tower. Enjoy!
