noticed this on my trailer. I tried to level it out with a jack, but had no luck. Anyone know what to do in this case.

Your hitch is not level, if your trailer chassis sits level the springs will even up. Hence play with your tow ball level, may even be able to turn your tongue upside down. (no don't stand on your head :) )

First get the trailer sitting level. Now compare both sides of the trailer to see what the spring shackles look like. I would suspect that if they are not even then you have a leaf spring that has been compromised/fatigued. At that point either go to a spring shop and have them refurbished or order a new set from a trailer company like Champion or Pacific Trailer.

Spray the heck out of it with WD-40. If it is too dry it could hang up.

If the surge brake on your trailer is sticking when you first start backing up, it can also cause this.

Had this happen a couple of times with a Big Tex car trailer. Lube it up good and it should correct itself (perhaps a white lithium spray).

I may be wrong but i am guessing you have a 2000 trailer. Your springs look like the single leaf that were recalled. Mastercraft will still honor the recall talk to your local dealer.

Just checked mine and it is the same but opposite. I am gonna lube it down.

Thanks a lot guys for all the good info. Quite frankly I don't know who my dealer is anymore. Chicago Mastercraft is gone.
