I'm starting to look for a ski boat in the 6-10k range and was wondering how the 88-92 prostar wake was for wakeboarding with a 700lb ballast bag in the back. I was thinking correct craft but the wooden stringer thing has me thinking a bigger wake from the start isn't worth the risk of buying a boat that needs an overhaul of the hull.

I'm getting a fair amount of time behind a 2007 tournament team and the wake is pretty good with ballast.

How you guys liking these older slalom boats for a wakeboard boat plus still can get a slalom set in the morning before the wallys tear up the lake.

I think you may be better off to get the 95-97 190 hull for wakeboarding. I don't think the 91-94 hull would be that good. I guy at our boat club had an 87 and sold it to a guy that was a wakeboarder. He had a skylon and a bunch of weight in it and used to fly.....but as low in the water and as much weight he had in it made me nervous.

You may be able to find a bare-bones 95-97 hull for around 10k.

What about the 88.89 hulls the boats seem pretty reasonable for price? can they throw a decent wake, I don't think I'll ever learn more than one invert and i used to do it on a stock 97 malibu wake with a trick ski.
