:popcorn::popcorn:

So will it be the smaller X30 or will it be a new ski boat?

They need to make a value package wake boat.

Something in the 20-21 foot size, holds 11-12, doesn't come with all the "bling"... just some normal guages, pre-plumbed for sacks... no factory ballast though... no crazy expensive stereo, no heater, no shower, etc.

I'd love to see a boat that could be had brand new for about 45k from them with a solid hull design, standard tower (no power), sitting on a single axle trailer. Just have the basic stereo within the cabin, nothing on the tower (since most people like to personalize this stuff anyway), and keep it mechanically simple, yet with a "new" look to it for those of us that don't really dig the early x-star looking boats. God that'd be nice.

Guess I'll have to look at some Sangers :D

I'm picking up what you're putting down. I've read and been told that BU didn't raise prices this year (for the third year in a row?), yet we are seeing 170K prices on X35s??? HArd not to look around if you're in the market for a new boat.

I completly get what you're saying, but the sales numbers of the ski boats don't seem to justify the costs of R&D and new molds to MC. ICBW, but that's just my read on the situation. Go to any MC dealer and I'm betting there are 6 Vdrives there to 1 DD, and the ratio may be greater than that. The MC dealer for Alberta is the highest volume MC dealer in the world, and I haven't seen DD's in there very often, but there is a showroom and yard full of V drives.

I saw 4:1 brand new BU to any year MC on Lake Powell last week. Also was at Utah Water Sports and they had 1 x35, 1 x45 and 3 x55 in the show room, and a bunch more in the yard. The guy laughed at me when I asked about a 197 or 214. I sat down with the sales guy to price a 197 with x7 package (mini tower and ballast), 6.0L, heated seats and stearing wheel, heater, shower, no radio or speakers (after market is better and cheaper), tandem axel low pro trailer, bimini, and snap on cover, under water lights, and runway lights on the trailer. Came in at $100k, he told me I would pay about $88k. Seems like a lot to me.

As far as the new boat goes, I can't really keep all the 20-22'ish v-boats seperate in my mind.

We should go out some time Scott. Im already a little bored of surfing the 30 cause its so easy to stay on the wave. been working on front side airs and next step with be a 3.

scott, i agree with what you are saying. my question is how many 20-25 ft vdrives do you need to offer? with that said they could get rid of the 190 and only offer a new 197 that people have been waiting on for sometime.

oh and i have a x2!

C'mon now. Why you got to be like that? I just started taking surfing seriously this year, so it still a challenge to me every time we go out.

I'd love to take a look at your 30, I was just on the phone with the dealer talking about a loaded 30 they've got in the showroom. Was bought when the $ was above US, so the price on it is amazing. Tough to move away from the pickle fork though...

100k for a freakin 197? I'm anxious to see how much their sales drop when they start putting these boats out of reach... even for people that DO make a good living.

These are clearly not aimed at pleasing your average ski enthusiast like their early models did.

Are you drinking today???? MC is making luxury boats for those who are either very wealthy, willing to take out giant 25 year loans, or willing to wait 5-10 years to get a used MC at 45k plus. This is why you are seeing MB, Axis, and Moomba doing as well as they are. Hell all I see is MB these days. So we can sit and be voyeurs with these announcements and beautiful boats. I will enjoy my 2002 X Star this weekend.

Hey Scott, if you like surfing, you would like the 30 I believe. It has a lot going for it and a lot of space. And my comments about the surf wave are just because it's a very easy wave to stay on. My Moomba XLV had a great wave but not like the 30. It actually has a mini barrel. You would probably miss the pickle fork but would like the X-star style rear seat of the 30 too. Hard to go down from an X-45!

Is it the green 30 in their showroom? It's a nice boat if it is.

Its a gorgeous boat! Just like with their first generation, its identical to todays 30, only two feet shorter. I spoke with someone at Mastercraft today, and a dealer who are confirming that it's wake is larger than the 30.

I'm penciled in for the first order in AZ and will decide next week after I ride behind a 30. (And when pricing becomes available) Unfortunately, the first 10's will not land until September.....

I like it more than the old Maristar 210 x10. That boat was too vanilla for me.

I agree with the others that this is the best "new MC" style release yet vs. the Star and 30. Looks like they'll continue with the two-style program like years past (Prostar and Maristar) because the x25 is pretty recent and not this new style. Hopefully the new ski boat for next year has more of the 25 style, I don't think this new one would look great scaled down that far.

Great front but not liking the side lines - if the tower were gone and a tree fell across it, that would be what it looked like afterwards. But love the front molded inlay. Like that some affordability may come back around.

So is it truly bye bye X15 to make room for this boat in MCs stable?

In a weird way it almost makes sense to me as the X15 had the 5 at the end of its name, but was not a picklefork bow, so MC replaces it with the X10 so all will be right again in its universe of nomenclature.

No, there's still the X25, X35 and X55 in the line up. The "5 at the end of its name" still lives on. :D

:(Looks like every new boat is getting the 56 Chevy bellaire look. Not a fan

I'm with you. But I said the same thing about the Xstar bow when it came out, and now I have one.

But I don't think I'll warm to that look. I don't like it on cars either unless they are 57 chevies.

Nope. X-2 is a pickle fork. They'd have to call it the X-05 or X-5 to be consistent with the first digit representing feet over twenty and the second digit designating pickle fork or traditional bow.

Ah, touche. So look to see the X5 come out around Christmas. it will be a 20'6" boat with a picklefork bow and hips. Say so long to the X2 fellas.

Not quite. What about the X2?? its a pickel fork.

Here is my theory;

first digit representing feet over twenty

second digit designating inches (or fraction of a foot).

X14 = 21'-4"
X35 = 23.5 feet
X45 = 24.5 (not quite half)
X55 = 25.5 feet

X25 = breaks this rule
X2 = breaks this rule
:confused::confused::confused::confused: My brain hurts :D

At first, I'm sure it started this way... but now that they have a gazillion different models, they just say "Ahh screw it, just throw a number on the side and we'll go with it" :)

Yeah, the X25 should be the X15 if you go by that, and the X14 is a 21.33333' boat so shouldn't it have been the X13.333 or at least the X13? X13 would be a cool wakeboard boat name.:D

When you put your order in, you have your choice of leopard, cheetah, or zebra print. Color choices for exterior are metal flake only in either maroon, purple, or gold. All accesories are gold plated. Engine size, there is only one, 454. Sound system will be 3 4000 watt amps. 1 bridge for the 2 15 subs, 1 for the highs, and 1 for the mids complete with your own dj that will announce in the chessy strip club voice the ladies coming to the pole next (Gentleman coming to the pole next for your pleasure... Jaaaasmine). From what I hear the D bags are already laying down the $99,000 for it.

I hear you can add an option that includes a pontoon towable... kind of like a bigger stage, and adds another 15 people to the boats capacity. 30 stippers on your own towable stripper stage... niiiiiice.

I am not sure on the style on these new boats... maybe they look better in person. I hate that the new boats need to grow on me. I think the last new product launch that really made me say wow was the X2. It was innovative, offered new stuff/features in a smaller boat, does lots of stuff well plus it looked nice from day one... It does not matter anyway as I would have to sell a kidney on Ebay to afford one of these new boats...

You can wish in one hand and crap in another and see which one is filled up first. Compromise is always tough, but design a boat the has almost no wake at slalom speed, handles like a Ferrari, and is good in the rough water and you would make millions.
