Guy,
Any tips on how to properly bring my metal flake stripe back to life. Want to see that orange flake shining again.

Do a quick search as there are lots of threads on this. Depending how bad it is, will determin whether or not you can just use a buffing compound and polish or if you need to wet sand, compound and polish. Most guys start with a 600 grit and work their way up to a 1000 grit. Use a 3m rubbing compound and then polish. I have seen some amazing work on this forum.

I used a high speed rotary with wool pad & mequires #85 for my '79 SNS which had been sitting outside for at least a year. A lot of work but put on 6+/- coats and she looks A LOT better; still needs a few more coats to look glossy.

For the ultimate shine wet sand to 2000. Buff with 3M heavy -cut on a wool pad. Then machine polish with a foam pad ( perfect-it) Then machine glaze with a different foam pad and finally Collinite Insulator Wax by hand. Deep mirror shine!
