The front section clearly has screws visible. On the back section covering the shaft seal I can't find any visible screws holding it down. Where am I missing them? 2003 x9

Mine ('01 ps209) does not have any screws. I remove the gas springs, fold the engine cover back then lift up the panel by pulling up on the edge of the panel next to the hinges. A slight tug is all that is needed. the only thing holding it there is gravity the friction from the carpet.

Yes....

Just a friction fit. I just put several blankets on the back deck and roll the cover and lower panel on it. It's not exactly light weight. Two people would be required if you want to lift it out of the boat and set it on the ground.

The important thing when putting it back in is to make sure the floor panel is tight against the back wall. Otherwise your latch in the front may not fit correctly when lowering the cover. There are no pins or guide points for alignment.

Had a major struggle removing the floor panel on my 02 X-30 to thread new steering cable. Found using mild dishwasher soap at seams helped greatly.
