Just pulled my 2010 X-2(5.7L) out after a good night at the lake and I noticed steam coming from underneath my boat. There was hot/warm water dripping out from the prop shaft seal and the prop shaft was hot but still touchable. Does anyone know what the problem is? Or is it even a problem? I will be taking it to my dealer tomorow morning to find out what the problem is, as I am leaving for BC,Canada for two weeks on Friday.

Water coming out is normal. Dripless packing runs raw water into it and out the bottom of the boat.
That water should be cold lake water though, in fact I tapped the cold water for my showr off the shaft packing line. Doesn't make sense it's warm unless yours is plumbed different than my 06.

Heat means friction- maybe the dripless system is too tight? On a traditional shaft seal, if the shaft is warm/hot, it means the packing nuts have been adjusted too tight, possibly melting the packing and scoring the shaft. Can the shaft seal be adjusted?

The water will be warm exiting the seal.
