I bought a MC S/S last May. The PO sold it as a 1985....however, the HULL says 1984. So, I thought to myself. Hmm, OK so I bought an '84. However, when I replaced the gauges most had stickers on them dating 1985. So what do I have here? Thoughts?

Did you get a Title? or just Bill of sale?

I have 1972 sold and titled as a 1973. Nothing to worry about. Beautiful boat. Good purchase. No wood either.

My understanding does allow for an 85 model year built in late 84. Drivers side gas cap usually indicates 84. This picture is not enough to definitively declare one or the other. If you have title and the vin matches that would be pretty clear cut.

Beauty though, either way.

I have a Red and Beige 1984 that I bought new. My gas cap is on the passenger side. So, the gas cap theory doesn’t hold water. However, I did notice back in 1985 that the speedometers went from white to orange needles.

I believe the gas cap placement depends on if you have an aluminum tank (drivers side) or plastic tank (passenger side). I have seen 84's with both.

So was the change over of the fuel tanks a mid-model year thing?

Beautiful boat. The red really pops on the grey hull.

I donít have a title for it. Georgia doesnít title boats. I know weird, huh. Wow, thanks for all the compliments. I Really appreciate it. I've been putting a lot of elbow grease in it getting it as good as it can be lately.

The PO changed out the original tank. So I don't know what was in it prior.

My 84 had an aluminum tank. Some other owners with 84's had plastic. My 85 is plastic.
