Ok, as most of you folks know I usually just hang out in the off topic section. I'm not Mr. Fix-it, so I let the folks who are help out here. I have a question about the plyon. I tightened the dang thing the other night and can't move it for anything, but when I put the Skylon on, it will move with ease. I know it shouldn't move, but I can't get it any tighter..

Make sure that the cable for the skylon is super tight. Also, is it the pylon moving or the skylon? The extended pylons will move slightly. I called barefoot international the maker of fly high this year because I too was concerned and they said that a slight movement was ok.

I Had The Same Problem In My 94.i Drilled And Tapped The Holes To7/16 And Installed Two Stainless Brackets To The Motor Mounts.do A Pylon Seach And Check Back To March This Year,i Have Some Pics Of It.the Bolts Screw Into The Steel Backing Plates In Behind The Fiberglass.if This Steel Plate Has Moved Around For A While I Doubt If You Will Ever Get It Tight Without
Some Other Brackets.

the plyon moves about 1/4 of an inch.

Mine moves a hair as well Brad when the Skylon is on. However, it won't move if it is off no matter how hard I pull. However, think about a lever and the leverage generated from the Skylon.

So, I should be OK?

This was discussed on another thread recently. Everyone I've talked to says there skylon moves side-to-side. I don't believe mine moves front-to-back.

Anyway here's the other thread:

Also, here's a thread from a while ago that includes a way to reinforce it (scan down to the last page and see pics).

I've always been paranoid about this because if it's moving, what is flexing to allow it to move?????

You should be fine with slight movement as long as the wires are tight and the U-bolts have been adjusted/tightened.
