Picked this up yesterday: 1954 Chris Craft 17' Sportsman

In need of some cosmetic work. But Engine, transmission and all mechanics have been recently rebuilt by a company that specializes in these. Have all receipts. As well as fresh upholstry, etc.... Going to just use it as is for a while, then tackle the exterior.

Been wanting something like this most of my life. Finally at age 40, I have one

Heres a pic of me picking it up. It was raining so I left the cover on.

Kick ***! You'll have to post some more pictures of the interior when you get a chance.

I love the classic Chris Craft boats. I have always dreamed of owning/restoring on of these someday. Will most likely have to wait till retirement (in another 35 years).

Enjoy the woody. I restored a 1962 Thompson Sea Coaster (everything!) and put a modern Merc 40hp on it. LOVED IT. Sold it to get the MC I have now. I could drive that Thompson anywhere and for 6 gallons I could go all day. Got tons of looks / compliments. I sold it to an elderly could on Tims Ford lake who never had a boat. I wish I had kept it over the MC somedays

What's Jack Nicholson doing with your boat?

I was just looking at that pic wondering if that was the Jack llok alike from the swimsuit thread. Not that I was going to hate going back through the thread to find out
