For a novice rider, at what point should you take the fins off the board? Any suggestions?

At the time you will be able to ride on board edges and carving, you won't need fins anymore I guess, same goes if you want to learn some basic tricks like surface 180 and so on...

Thanks. I'm fairly comfortable at edging, think I'll take the training wheels off...

Thanks for the info. I am pretty new at wakeboarding as well and have been trying some butter slides and riding switch and I think the fins are making it harder. I can carve very hard and confident so I think il try taking the fins off my hyperlite and see how it goes!
