After expecting to take delivery of a 2001 X5 tomorrow I have just been told that on its predelivery LPG setup it has ingested the valve from The LPG system into the Intake and punched a hole in No 8 Piston I spent 7-8mths looking for a boat that would allow slalom and wakeboarding within my budget (14,000) and am now being told my options are
REfund deposit and look for another boat ( another7-8mths ???!!!! )
Repair with Long Motor from USA 5 week lead time plus Installation test etc. (not my cost)
UK sourced engine available sooner but I am reading that it would require "additional funding"
Help anyone!!!!!
What is the cost of a long Motor in USA ?
Anyone aware of anyone capable of Rebuilding reconditioning the Engine in the UK
Anything that will get me on the water in whats left of thisd UK " Summer ":(

I would think if the lpg shop damaged the engine they would repair it regardless of "additional funding". Here in US your can get a reman 5.7 vortec long block for around $2000 and then it needs to be marinized. I would think customs and shipping would be cost prohibitive.
Not exactly sure where you are at, Heres a company in heerenveen, Netherlands

Starter / alternator (marine ) will be off the damaged one Anything else ???
