View Full Version : How Many Hours on your MasterCraft?

NeilM
07-12-2012, 03:27 PM
My 2002 Maristar 210 VRS just turned 900 hours. It started me wondering how many hours other owners have on their MasterCrafts (especially those of us with ice on our lakes for almost half a year!).
Other than the ballast pumps (knock on wood), it's been a reliable (and fun) boat.

What year is your MasterCraft and how many hours do you have on it?

Any rebuilds in that time??

Timing set replaced around 2200 as a preventative and since the previous owner was doing a water pump anyway. Other then that she is 100% original rods*pistons*block*heads you name it. I cannot wait to build a nice strong 351 but for now why bother she still runs.

those hours are even more impressive with the short season in Wisconsin! Imagine all the good times had on all the hours logged, this is one reason why financing a boat, albeit not a great business venture, is one of the best decisions I've made.

'89 PS190 has 732, bought in '99, 3rd owner. Second owner must not have realized what he had and how to take care of it. He said his daughter would play in it and leave the key on, so we don't know how many of those 732 are actual running hours?? He also said "it's a sickening feeling when you look in the engine compartment in the spring and the freeze plugs are laying in the bottom". Cost us $800 to get it "winterized" that first year. Hubby has learned a lot since then, thanks to TT and friends around the lake.

1985 on my 1985 the other night. We had been discussing being sure we were in the course for it, or maybe having the wakeboarder in our crew throw an invert as we hit the magic number. Instead we ended up being on the way to dinner with another family. Didn't want to miss our reservation for great surf and turf, and awesome clam chowder, so we shot this quick pick and hurried on the way. After dinner we hooked up with some friends unexpectedly and towed kids (and a couple of adults) around on the kneeboards till dark. Got 4 people their first time behind a boat in all that day. Turns out the number I was looking forward to came and went like the rest of them. Having fun, sharing the joy, and running with no troubles. Can't beat the build quality of the old MasterCrafts with the PCM engines. Meanwhile Moomba dealer is telling a guy we know who has 500 hours in 3 years he better trade it now, cause with hours like that he'll be needing a new engine before the end of next year. Really???
