Trying a different prop this weekend on my '89 Tristar.
Can anyone tell me what the correct torque is on the prop nut after I swap them out?

Good and tight, seriously though 50 ft/lbs
be sure to use a new lock nut and cotter pin, and check it periodically...

What prop are you currently using, and what prop are you trying out? Enquiring minds want to know...

Currently using a 3 bladed 13x13 OJ.
Going to a 4 bladed 13x13 OJ prop.

I think you'll like it, I know I did, better hole shot, doesn't affect top end and holds speed better in turns.

Have you taken the prop off before? It can be a lot of trouble. I had to spray the shaft with WD40 and keep tightening up the prop puller over a 12 hour period until if finally popped off. Also, leave the nut on so that the prop dies not pop off of the shaft and land on the garage floor (or wherever).
