OK, I'll display my ignorance. I have seen several people on the board quite exicted about the Acme 541. Enlighten me what makes that one better than the rest.

Oh yeah...and how much can I expect to put out for it.

Smooth as silk, no vibrations, more holeshot, less wake and roostertail.

I just got a connection, PM me if you want a price

jrandon probably has a great connection.

I just bought an Acme 857 from Wakeside. Acme was selling it direct for $399. They said to buy it from Wakeside. It was the best deal I could find, considering the 10% credit they give back to you to use on their site. I paid $350 and then had $35 to spend on another purchase.

I did buy the 'weekend saver kit' from Acme though. $100. Harmonic prop puller, hammer, extra pin and nice canvas case for the prop and all tools mentioned.

I've had my new 541 sitting in a box all summer as back up, after all this talk looks like I'm going to put it on the starting team!

When I'm near the boat I have a choice, I can either ski or work on it. I always choose ski.....;)

Paid $293 delivered for mine about 1.5 years ago. Among my best boat-related purchases.

If I were to buy an acme 541 over the stock 3-blade that is currently on the boat, will I be looking at more top end, or more holeshot, or both?

Probably not more top end but definetely more hole shot!

Erk, with the 541, probably just more hole shot. The 543 is an option for even more hole shot, but you will lose some top end.

I have the 543 on my boat. By far, one of the best things I've done to the boat. She just jumps up outta the water!!

I don't want to loose any top end, I like to foot FAST :D I wouldn't find alittle more hole shot though :)

How fast is yours with the stock prop? I get 46-47'ish out of mine with the stock prop. I am anticipating the same out of my 541 but much smoother and more holeshot.

I haven't had the GPS out but once, and I believe it was between 44-46 depending on gas, and people.

Not sure about that. My stock 1990 PS 190 has enough hole shot to yank my arms out of the sockets (with 1.52 : 1 trans). Driver has to back off the throttle. If anything, I'd like more top end... And I'm a slalom skier. I'd think wakeboarders would need even less hole shot.

Add 2k lbs of ballast and even a Powerslot will be hurting. Thats why they run different props.

For more top end it can be done, you just give up some pitch.

Leroy,

Let me (us) know the results when you change props, since I have a 230 similar to yours.
