For those of you who have removed your Boat Buddy I am wondering what you have used as a replacement tie down. I will install a new bow roller but want to have another tie down option. I see Boat Buckle has a bow version but not sure i want that up front. Any thoughts, advice or photos are appreciated.

Why do you want to replace it? Have you had problems with it?

Just curious....

It has become hard and is leaving small scuffs on gel coat.

same here. The mechanism seams to work ok. Just not happy with the scuffs. I have seen some orange looking rollers. Has anyone used them and know if they differ from the yellow looking ones.

The Stoltz ULT-3 is the one you want. It is indestructible and guaranteed not to mark your boat. I just bought and installed one 3 weeks ago and love it. No more marks on the gel. Got it at West Marine.

Did the same here (Stoltz ULT-3 or similar). Not once have I regretted it. Just get a honk'n big safety chain with safety hook so your boat doesn't slide off your trailer when the winch strap fails (and they do, on occasion).
