Can anyone tell me how to hook an IPOD/Iphone up to the CMD4 unit. It is an 06 PS 197. Not sure if it matters but the boat is also set up for Sirius Radio. May just go the sirius root, but do not have the unit # to sign up.

Thanks

Won't matter and you won't have many options with the iPad. You should have a jack next to the driver's seat that sort of looks like a power outlet, at least that's what I have on my X2. The only option would be to use the jack as the CMD4 didn't support USB and native iPOD control. At least the one I had didn't. I upgraded to the CMD6 and never looked back. Haven't used a CD in 4 years in the boat.

Believe it or not the remotes and the cable will have to be changed. The good news is that the CMD7 is going for $225, The Y cable is another $33, the extension is $30 and the big remote is $108. So the whole package is $400. Hmmm it does seem like a lot of cash but that's boating.

Just bought the cmd7 last Friday for $198 from, of all places, West Marine. Found a screaming deal online that had a 4th of July promo attached, and shockingly, the manager at WM matched.

Replaced my xmd3 and did so bc I wanted the ability to play my ipod.

Love it so far.

The old remotes will work with the new unit, but you'll need an adapter cable and you lose the LCD readout.

My 06 has the CMD4 I believe. Anyway, mine did not come with an Ipod jack down by the throttle like most I've seen.
There is an auxillary set of RCS inputs on the head unit (under the dash) that you can hook into. Just get a RCA to headphone jack and plug it in. I never ran mine over to the drivers side, rather just snaked it out of the observer seat.
That cord just crapped out this year and I replaced it with a RCA to Ipod plug. Also has a power lead on it to charge the Ipods.
It was not cheap, $50 vs $10 for the speaker level plug, but charging capabilities and more importantly, better quality signal from the Ipod was worth it IMO.
CD's used to sound much better than the Ipod, but now the Ipod tunes crank as well!

Anyone know what the part number is for the adapter cable?

Here is the thread with contact information for the only source I found when looking for the CCUMRA1. It also has the pin outs if you need to make your own.
