View Full Version : Attitude Plate position while cruising?

2012 X-25 6.0L Ilmor

I am finding that I need to keep the Attitude Plate DOWN 100% AT ALL TIMES: cruising, surfing, tubing ...

If I don't trim to 100%, the bow lifts above the horizon (certainly a low speeds, but even at higher speeds); if I I keep the plate DOWN (100%) the ride is just fine (at any speed).

Has anyone else noticed this?

Yes. I keep our center tab down quite a bit, especially when choppy. Surfing I keep the center tab anywhere from 35-55% down. The X25 has to have a center tab and I can't imagine not having it.

Guys, that sounds strange that you have to have the center wake plate down when cruising. For my 2012 X25 keeping the wake plate up all the way, I dont get any porpusing, even at full speed. I only lower the wake plate when aproaching shallow areas when I need to keep the bow down. Otherwise i keep the plate up for minimum resistance when planing.

However with that said, my 2011 X25 would porpous if the wakeplate was up all the way at full speed.

I have 2011 X25, and at full speed I need the centre plate down around 50%. I am having trouble getting a decent surf wake though. I need to lower middle about 20-30% and the side tab about 50% and cruise around 10mph. Does that sound right?

I found a good wake as follows assuming your surfing on the Port (left side);

Port Rear ballast full
Center Ballast full
Port Rear P&P bag full
Port surf Tab 0% (all the way up)
Center trim plate 0% (all the way up)
Starborn Tab 100% down
Speed 10.3 mph

I put my surf wake specs and videos in a thread here:

The X25 is awesome for surfing.

This is my same set up except I just fill a X2 sac in port locker. I drop center tab as well to 30%.

It does start off a bit nose high but I think that may be normal.
