Took the madden voyage on the 93 Maristar 225 with 454 chevy today. First thing in the AM it was just 3 of us wakeboaring, so 350-400lbs in people weight, plus 2 500# fat sakes in the rear of the boat. We would top out around 18-20mph after 1-2minutes, wasn't terrible with a short line but still very slow. Later in the day we added 2 more riders who I placed in the bow. We were lucky if the boat hit 15mpg period. We eventually empty the ballast and the boat easily hit 30+ mph in a few seconds. IMO the prop has always looked small, should I go for a bigger prop? Im not concerned with high speed, but I do want to be able to have a nice wake and still be able to tow at 21-25mph. Any recommendations ?
