Sad to hear of what's going on in one of my favourite summer playgrounds.

I called the management company who manages a friends condo, The Narrows, she then told me what was going on out there. I didn't pay attention to what was going on out there before I spoke to her then i saw it all on the news the very next day. It may be quite a while before its back to normal. I was looking forward to hanging out at Mara and doing some skiing.

They are working round the clock to try and salvage the season. My friends houseboat trip for next month is up in the air now.

This one shows a lot of the damage.

We would normally be leaving this morning for our annual Canada Day houseboating trip. Ironically our trip was already on hiatus this year.

It's an awful thing for all of the residences and businesses destroyed.

Here on Shuswap lake now water has finally stopped rising and has dropped a couple inches already since yesterday.

That's good to hear.

The lake was full of debris last spring, I'd imagine it's even more treacherous now?

Yeah it's pretty crazy debris-wise.

Yeah, if you can show us some pictures. The Management Co lady told me that the main boat launch in Sicamous was closed.

I'd be wary this year on the Shuswap lake. Too much debris and logs, wouldn't want to hit anything. Heard a lot of the beaches were houseboats usually anchored are still underwater.

Your photo reminds me of a shot I took last year with a log.

I think it was about 9:00 PM. Can you believe I almost didn't ski it because everyone was more interested in getting drunk on the houseboat. Sometimes I wonder about my friends... My wife was in for driving, but it took some persuasion to get a spotter. On the plus side, I didn't have to share sets.. but a man can only hold on for so long (especially after a full day of riding). Thinking back, I'm sure I would have just skied without a spotter if I had to.
