View Full Version : Oil Drain Hose Thread Size? '04 X-Star

At work and want to pick up a hose and coupler to attach to my factory oil pan drain hose. Stupid hose is too short to even reach the bilge drain plug. If anyone knows the thread size, you'd save me a day (don't have time to get home and check before the farm store closes tonight). I've searched and have gotten close, but no dice. Thanks.

Does this help.

Thanks Frankster, but no, doesn't help. Want to couple a length of hydraulic hose of the same size and fittings to the current hose. Thanks again though.

I think its a 1/4 or 1/8 pipe fitting. They are cheap so if no one gets one here with a sure answer I'd just grab a couple sizes and return what doesn't fit.

1/2 inch.

It's 1/4 pipe thread

I have the same problem with my X-star. Hose too short.

Correctomundo Dave, 1/4 NPT.

Correctomundo Dave, 1/4 NPT.

I remember the first time I went to change my oil and realized the OE hose was too short.
Brass fitting, hose barb on one end and 1/4 pipe thread (female) on the other with about 12" of clear tubing. Works great. I drain the oil after using the boat while the oil is still hot, overnight into a drain pan.
